Where are Slash products manufactured?
Slash products are designed by our team in Brooklyn and made by artisans we partner with in Indonesia.
What are your products made from?
The Slash/Bed is made of sustainably forested wood from our FSC and LVLK certified lumber partners in Indonesia. Our structure usually consist of a combination of some of the following types of wood; Trembesi, Mahogany, Rosewood, Pine, Mindi and more.
Where does the name Slash come from?
We chose the name Slash primarily as a symbol that represents collaboration and togetherness, similar to what it does for two words.
When you see a piece of furniture like a bed or a sofa, it typically connects people, and we view it as a core part of bringing people together. We want to inspire more collaboration and authenticity.
As a result, it has become a core element of the product design. Everytime you see the iconic Slash on our products, that’s because it enables two pieces of wood to come together in a foldable manner and create a better experience.
Can I use Slash products outdoors?
Although we have some beautiful photography of our bed in the great outdoors, it was not designed specifically for that and since the beds are made of naturally treated wood the rain and weather can affect it. Feel feel to try it on a nice day and let us know how it goes!
Can you do custom orders?
Sorry, we do not do any custom orders at this time.
I would like to cancel my order, how do I do that?
Once an order is placed, it will be immediately processed and it is generally not possible to cancel or change it in any way. If you wish to cancel your order please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org immediately and we will do our best to accommodate.

Where else can I find Slash?
We only sell through our website for now.
Is there anywhere I can go see the products in person?
Of course! You can stop by the Slash HQ in Brooklyn. You’re also more than welcome to just come hang out with us.
Do you offer studio pickups for the New York area?
Unfortunately, we do not do any studio pickups. Maybe someday!
I am having trouble with checking out. Can you manually process my order?
Sorry, we can’t make that happen. To protect our customer's information, we require all transactions to be handled through our website.
Will my card be charged at checkout or time of shipment?
Your card will be charged at time of checkout. If product is in stock, it ships out within 1-2 business days.
What is a backorder?
Sometimes, our products may sell out quickly and temporarily be on backorder. This means that the products are currently out of stock but that there are shipments on their way to re-stock our warehouses. Ordering a product that is currently on backorder is a worry-free way to ensure that you will be first in line for the new inventory and that the product you ordered will be sent out to you as soon as we receive it!
How quickly will my order ship?
Orders will ship within 1-2 business days, unless otherwise noted underneath the “Add to Cart” button onsite. If a product is out of stock, the estimated shipping window will be noted underneath the "Add to Cart" button on the product page by color/size variation.
How long will it take for my products to arrive?
Orders placed within contiguous 48 United States are processed within 1-2 business days and typically arrive within a week depending on your distance from California, where we ship from.
Can you expedite shipping?
All our items are shipped out as quickly as possible so there is no way to expedite orders. We do recommend placing orders as early on the day as possible to improve the changes of it leaving the warehouse on the same day.
Where do you ship for free?
We ship to the contiguous 48 states for free. Currently we do not ship internationally, but please sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know when we do!
What about Hawaii, Alaska, or Puerto Rico?
Unfortunately, at this time, we treat Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico the same way we treat "international" orders. Currently we do not ship internationally, but please sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know when we do!
Which carrier do you use to ship Ground?
Domestically, we ship primarily using UPS.
What is your return policy?
Slash was conceived to be a simpler way to buy furniture — we do our best to make returns as simple as possible too.
We accept returns within 100 days of placing your order, in the original packaging.* Only returns made within 100 days of placing your order and in the original packaging will be accepted. We pay the return shipping cost; you pay a 10% restocking fee.**
Our return policy covers factory mistakes and damages to the bed caused by shipping and handling on our part.
*Only purchases made from slashbed.com within the contiguous US qualify for free return shipping within 100 days of placing the order.
We DO NOT accept International returns. We DO NOT accept returns from Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico.
**10% of the full item price will be subtracted from your refund.
What are the steps to request a return?
Step One: If you’re not pleased with your Slash purchase, please contact email@example.com within 100 days of placing your order and include clear reasons why.
Step Two: Once submitted, our Customer Experience Team will process your request and investigate the claims. It is up to Slash's description to accept whether a return is covered by our return policy. Please read the terms carefully before returning your product. We will send you a return shipping label(s). You should expect to hear back from us within 1 business day.
Step Three: Safely package the Slash product(s) in the original packaging and drop it with appropriate carrier (most likely UPS, depending on your return label). You are generally responsible for getting the return product to the carrier.
Step Four: Once received at our warehouse, our team will inspect the item(s) — please allow up to 5 business days for processing. Provided the item(s) is in good condition, we will issue your refund, minus the restocking fee. Please allow 5-10 business days for the funds to be credited to your account.
I received a damaged or defective item in shipment. What should I do?
That’s completely our bad! Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org within 10 days of delivery with the following information:

Upon receiving notification of a claim, a Slash team member will follow up with you within 1 business day to verify the claim and make arrangements for a replacement or refund as necessary. It is up to Slash's description to accept a return or not. No restocking fees or return shipping costs will apply.
How does the bed ship?
If your bed is shipping UPS ground, it will ship in 3 packages:
For your convenience, there is no signature required. Once the bed ships, you will receive 2 tracking numbers (1 for each package). The packages can occasionally arrive 1-2 business days apart; unfortunately, we have little control over how shipping carriers do this. So just keep an eye on your tracking!
What are the shipping lead times?
When The Bed is in stock, it generally takes about 1-2 days to process from time of order until shipment.
Once the bed ships, it’s about 4-5 business days to the East Coast; 2-3 days to the West. However, we always recommend keeping an eye on your tracking for the most up-to-date information!

The Slash/Bed currently ships in three compact boxes.

What is the weight limit for the Slash/Bed?
The conservative weight limit on the Slash/Bed is 550 lbs (~250 kg).

Does the mattress slide around?
We don't have issues with the mattress sliding due to the design of the bed. Just make sure you use a mattress that fits the size of the bed. For example a US Queen Slash/Bed should accommodate a 60x80 inch mattress.
Can the mattress breathe on the Slash/Bed?
It sure can! Because of the slatted base, you won’t have any breathability issues with your mattress.
What makes the panels different from just any piece of wood?
The bed panels are constructed with a combination of different sustainably sourced and naturally treated woods, keeping them lightweight without compromising their strength or sturdiness.
Can I cut the panels?
Yes, you can. But we don’t recommend it because it may damage the overall strength and integrity of the bed.
What do the color choices mean for the Slash/Bed?
The color choices for the Slash/Bed refers to the dark being trembesi and mindi, and the light being pine and rosewood.
Are variations in the wood grain of my panels normal?
Yes. Please note that since wood is a natural material, each panel can have slight color, texture, and grain variations.
Do you sell the Slash/Bed internationally?
At the moment we do not sell internationally, however we do plan to! Please sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know when we open up internationally.
Are the beds treated?
The bed is treated with a natural water based coat.
Can the Slash/Bed withstand intense action ;) ?
We know what you are thinking, and yes, the Slash/Bed can perfectly withstand lots of action and will not make a sound.
What mattress & bedding would you recommend with the Slash Bed Frame?
We recommend our friends Emma for a mattress and Parachute Home for bedding! We do not recommend using a mattress with an adjustable or mechanical base such as the Tempur-Pedic adjustable base.
Is there a way to attach a headboard to the Slash/Bed?
Yes! We make a Headboard that can be bundled and purchased with the Queen Slash/Bed, or added on at a later date, and purchased separately. See “The Slash/Bed Headboard” coming soon.
If I add the Headboard to my order, how many packages will I receive?
When HeadBoards are in stock and ordered along with the Slash/Bed they will all ship together. If you order a HeadBoard later it will ship within 1-2 business days and typically arrive within a week.
My order arrived damaged, what do I do?
We’re sorry about that! That wasn’t supposed to happen. Please reach out to email@example.com and we will be sure to take care of it right away.
I lost a screw or other hardware. Can I get another one from Slash?

One of my Slash/Legs or Slats is broken. Can I get a replacement?

UPS is saying my package is delivered but I do not have my package. What do I do?

We do not have any trade-specific discounts.
Do you give discounts if I have a bulk order?

What is your lead time on bulk orders?
It would be great if you could give is at least a 1-month notice on orders under 30 units. For orders over 30 units, a 2-month lead time would be preferred.
